How to Prevent Wedding Day Limousine/Wedding Car Disasters

By Mark Minaglia, PerfectGroomsmenGifts.com

Many people assume that when you hire a limo or wedding car for your special day, that there will be no glitches.  With all the tasks that need to be done to prepare for the wedding, it seems that arranging your limo or wedding car would be one of the easier tasks.  Be aware.  Problems do happen. Limo drivers can get lost or run really late.  I have seen this happen and it is not a pretty picture.  Fortunately, there are many things you can do to help prevent any problems from arising.

First of all, really research the different limo companies. They are not all equal.  Ask your married friends which limo company they used and if they would recommend them.  If you want a wedding car instead of a limo, go and see all the different cars they have.  Have fun. Check out under the hood. Climb in. Honk the horn!

Make sure you know the exact number of hours that you will be renting your limo or wedding car from the time that you are picked up from the house until the time that you will be taken to the reception after the wedding. Do they accept credit cards, checks, or cash only?  Find out if the tip can be included in the final balance.  If not, delegate another person in the wedding party (perhaps your father or father-in-law) to take care of tipping the limo driver.  You do not want to have any financial responsibilities on this day.

Be sure to give the limo driver good directions and have him or her repeat them back to you.  Do not assume that they know where you live or will have G. P. S. to guide them there.  Have them arrive at least 1/2 hour before the wedding party needs to leave for the ceremony.  That might seem like a long time for a limo driver to be waiting around for the bride and bridal party, but it leaves extra time heaven forbid the limo driver is running late or has gotten lost. Don’t forget, should your wedding be on a weekday, this is usually prime traffic for people coming home from work, so travel times must be adjusted for this.

Lastly, keep in touch with the limo service.  Most likely, you have booked your limo 6 months to a year prior.  Call them every few months to verify that everything is in place.  Make sure cell numbers are exchanged.

They say a wedding is a day, but a marriage is a lifetime.  Still, your wedding is a very important day, and if you keep in mind the above mentioned, it will help to keep this very special day “driving “smoothly.

Congratulations on your special day.
