A little gem of a site … Top Notch Gift Shop
If you’re getting married and have started to explore wedding-related sites, you already know there are tons of sites out there that sell lots of absolute crap (and look more than a bit sketchy doing it). This is what makes Top Notch Gift Shop and the people there such a breath of fresh air. First of [...]

An easier way to play the name change game … introducing MissNowMrs.com
Not everybody changes their last name … my wife kept her last name (mostly because the end result would have given her initials that mirror an unfortunate acronym). However, most brides do change their name, as do some grooms (via hyphenation). But regardless of who you are, there’s quite a bit to do when changing [...]

From time to time, they will be offering us advice on how to maintain healthy, enduring relationships, so we really appreciate their time in sharing their insights with us. Just a bit about [...]

Choosing a photographer – and a bit about photography studio management software
It probably comes as no surprise that couples spend the biggest chunk of their wedding budget on their reception, but did you know that they spend the second largest chunk of their budget on their photography and videography? When you thing about it, this makes sense, because most brides and grooms first want to have [...]

I know having this level of emotion for something so mundane and inert may sound a bit crazy, but bear with me. I have been building and marketing wedding planning software and event planner software for [...]

Finding and booking a DJ for your wedding (and a bit on DJ management software programs)
Been a while since I last posted, but no time like the present to dole out some advice on reception music. Groomasaurus Gal and I decided to forego any DJ or band and use mixes that we put together and play them via our iPod. This is an excellent choice for those brides and grooms who [...]

Planning the Wedding Rehearsal Dinner for Groom with Groomsmen
You’re getting married. You’re the groom. Then your bride tells you to prepare the rehearsal dinner while she is charge of wedding party gifts for everyone. You have no idea what a rehearsal dinner even is. It’s your first time to get married and hopeful that it’s your last time as well. Now you’re thinking [...]

Groomsmen have always been an intricate part of weddings. As soon as the groom proposes, he is already thinking about which friends and family he will ask to be his best man and groomsmen. And of course, his close friends are also wondering if they will be asked to be part of the wedding party.

Although the brunt of the groomsmen’s responsibilities weighs mostly on the best man, the groomsmen also contribute as well.

Traditionally, the groom gives his groomsmen a gift to say thank you. There are so many great gifts out there to choose from. A personalized pub sign is truly a perfect groomsmen gift.

Pub signs date back to the early Romans. As many potential customers were unable to read, a personalized pub sign helped identify the establishment. Still now, pub signs are always a great hit. How often do you go out to eat and find yourself looking at all the different pub signs hung up on the wall?

So why are personalized pub-signs such a perfect gift? There are many reasons. Pub signs are a groomsmen gift you can never go wrong with.

First of all, there are so many different themed pub signs to choose from that there is one for every groomsmen’s interest. There is always the buddy that is a sports fanatic. Don’t forget the outdoorsmen that would love a fishing or hunting pub sign. Some friends prefer the traditional pub signs. Maybe a poker themed pub sign is the way to go for your card playing friends. The choices go on and on.

While the lady of the house usually decorates the kitchen, living room, and family room, the man of the house is free to design the bar and office. I have spoken with many men that admit that although they would love a personalized pub sign for their bar, they never actually go and buy one for themselves. This is exactly the reason to give them a pub sign! It helps “finish” off their bar and adds to the atmosphere. It is sure to come up in conversation, “Whose wedding did you stand up in?”, or “That’s really cool. Where did you get that?”

All in all, personalized pub signs really do make awesome groomsmen gifts and housewarming gifts as well.

Valentines Day is coming. What in the world are you going to get for your main man? Men seem to be so much harder to buy for than women, especially on occasions such as Valentines Day. Guys have it so muchh easier. They can buy red roses, jewelry, framed personalized pictures of you and him, or even lengeree. Needless to say, there are a lot of great gift options for guys.  Gifts that they will actually like instead of the typical courtesy "thanks, hon."

First things first, you need to figure out what your honey really likes.  Is a sports fanatic? Is he an outdoorsmen? Does he like collectables, or is he an avid Texas Holdem/Poker kind of guy? Every man has his passions.Using this information will help give you more ideas on what to get. Next, figure out how much money you want to spend on your gift for him. This will help you narrow down your choices and make your decisions a little easier.

Most really nice Valentines Day gifts can be found for under $30. Here are some ideas.

1. Personalized Flasks: Flasks are by far the most popular gifts for guys. Probably because there are such a wide variety you can find online. Flasks come in all shapes and sizes, but most flasks typically hold around 7-8 oz. Choose which flask you like and then have it engraved. Take into consideration his favorite past times, hobbies and passions. Then have it personalized to reflect him.

2.Personalized Beer Mugs and Engraved Beer Glasses: These also make great gifts. They are actually kind of pretty. (Just don't mention that to any man!). Having them engraved adds so much more to it. It's what actually makes it a special gift that shows how much thought you put into it.  Beer mugs, flasks and beer glasses have become quite the collectable items these days. Have you ever noticed at parties, the guys are always asking the host where they got that?  Then the man host will proudly hold it up and say, "Jessica gave this to me. Isn't it cool?", and all his friends agree.

3. Personalized cufflinks, travel bags, pubsigns, and even keychains and knives also are great ideas. My husband bought his good friend a really nice knife for his birthday and had it engraved with some saying that only those two understood. But his friend was so happy. He is really into fishing, and my husband knew how much his friend would like it. They rarely see each other, maybe every couple years. Now his friend thinks of my husband when he brings it on his fishing excursions.  Don't feel like you have to buy just a flask or barware.

Remember, all you need to do is take his personality into account when choosing his gift and no matter what you give him for Valentines Day, he will genuinly love it.
